Eintracht Frankfurt Abandons Rafiu Durosinmi

Rafiu Durosinmi, a forward from Nigeria, was reportedly close to joining Eintracht Frankfurt of the German Bundesliga, but the trade fell through.

Before the current January transfer window opens, Rafiu Durosinmi, his current team, Viktoria Plzeň, and Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed on almost every detail of the trade.

According to the German newspaper Bild, Durosinmi was scheduled to travel to Germany in January for a medical examination before the agreement fell through.

Rafiu Durosinmi has been suffering a knee ligament ailment that he received in October prior to the start of negotiations between the parties.

Despite this understanding, Eintracht Frankfurt was prepared to pay the Nigerian youth international €9 million for his services.

But according to Bild, “there were abnormalities during the mandatory medical check that caused Eintracht to refrain from this transfer,” which is why the deal fell through at the last minute.

The article further said that Rafiu Durosinmi’s injury status was not the reason the deal fell through.

Before he injured his knee ligament, the 20-year-old Nigerian player was enjoying a fantastic season with his Czech team.

The 1.92-meter-tall striker is highly regarded for his strength, agility in the air, and dexterity with the ball.

Durosinmi was viewed by Frankfurt as the perfect successor to Randal Kolo Muani, who departed for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer. Sadly, it will not be occurring in January.
