These Five 2023 AFCON Matches Are Sold Out Already

Despite being more than a week away, the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is already living up to the hype.

As of Tuesday, January 2, 2023, at least five of the 2023 AFCON’s group stage matches were sold out, according to Naija News.

Keep in mind that the competition will start in Ivory Coast on January 13 and run through February 11, 2024.

The match between the hosts, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria, the most populous nation in Africa, is one of the most important games in the tournament’s group stage.

Anticipatedly, every ticket for the Group A match has been sold out in advance of the match, which is scheduled to take place at the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpé around 6 p.m. on January 18.

The stadium can hold 60,000 people, and the lowest price for tickets is N7,192.80 ($8). These tickets are referred to as Category Three.

Approximately N14,385.60 ($16) was spent by individuals who purchased Category Two tickets, which offer greater comfort and closer to the pitch. Those who chose the most expensive seat, Category One, spent N21,578.40 ($24) for each seat.

The stadium can hold 60,000 people, therefore fans of football should prepare for an exciting match between these two formidable West African teams.

The 2023 AFCON opening match between Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau will kick off at 9 p.m. on Saturday, January 13.

Against Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea will begin at 3 p.m. on January 18.

Senegal versus Cameroon
Start time: January 19 at 6 p.m.

Ghana versus Egypt
Start time on January 18 is 9 p.m.
