According to The Athletic’s Fred Katz, the move gives New York more flexibility ahead of the trade deadline, adding 14 players to the roster and allowing each team to have up to 15 players on their roster.

Gibson spent last season with the Washington Wizards and signed a one-year contract with the Knicks in December.
