Report: Every Lakers member involved in Russell Westbrook trade including LeBron James admits ‘they misjudged it’

In the 2021 offseason, the Lakers traded Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell and a first-round pick to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Westbrook and two future second-round picks.

This guard spent almost two seasons as part of his franchise, the storied Lakers.
In his first season with the Lakers, 2021-22, he averaged 18.
5 points, 7.
4 rebounds, and 7.
1 assists per game while shooting 44.
4 percent from the floor and 29.
8 percent from beyond the arc.
The 2021-22 season was Westbrook’s only full season with the Lakers.
In his second year in Los Angeles, when the Lakers decided to bench him, he averaged 15.
9 points, 6.
2 rebounds, and 7.
5 assists per game in just 52 regular-season games.
In February 2023, the Lakers decided to trade Westbrook to the Utah Jazz as part of a three-team trade that also included the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Los Angeles acquired D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley and Jared Vanderbilt as part of the deal.

Beasley is not a member of the Lakers’ franchise as he currently plays for the Milwaukee Bucks, but both Russell and Vanderbilt have proven to be important players for Los Angeles.

Russell is in his fourth season with the Lakers and also played for the Brooklyn Nets, Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors during his NBA career.
The 27-year-old recently missed three games with a coccyx injury, but returned to the lineup for the Lakers’ win over the Los Angeles Clippers on January 7th.
He had 13 points, six assists, one steal and one block in 31 minutes, shooting 5-of-14 from the floor and 3-of-9 from 3-point range.
The Lakers will be looking for their second straight win when they play the Toronto Raptors at home on Tuesday.
The Raptors had won two of their last three games, before defeating the Warriors on January 7th and a five-point win over the Memphis Grizzlies on January 3rd.
