Four Alabama Longhorns players should be hoping to enter the transfer portal following Nick Saban’s retirement

Following the news that legendary University of Alabama head coach Nick Saban is retiring, two big stories have dominated the college football news cycle.
The first, of course, concerns who the Crimson Tide’s next head coach will be, and the second concerns players from the University of Alabama entering the transfer portal.
With the transfer portal period over, the remaining players in and around the college football world are now locked into their current programs until the spring portal period.
But at a program like Alabama, and perhaps a program whose new head coach is leaving to take the job at Alabama, these players have 30 days to move on.
Since 2020, Saban and his staff have ranked No.
2 nationally in three of his classes and No.
1 nationally in his other two classes.
That said, there are currently a number of talented players in Tuscaloosa, Alabama who may be reconsidering their future with the program.
There are no player pop-ups in the portal yet.
This could mean that he is waiting for the next head coach or that he has not yet appeared in the database.
But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few players that a program like Texas wouldn’t want to acquire.
So, here are four players the Longhorns might want to enter the transfer portal to pursue and strengthen their roster.

Do the Longhorns already have a five-star recruit at that position with a transfer and he’s a five-star recruit?
Yes.
But in an offense like Steve Sarkisian’s, having another weapon is never a bad thing.
The Longhorns lose three top receivers and an NFL tight end, meaning they will have to replace a lot of production.
Isaiah Bonds proved to be Alabama’s most reliable target, leading the team in catches and providing a deep threat that every team covets.
He’ll likely adapt smoothly, and finding another target for Quinn Ewers wouldn’t be the worst idea.
