Breaking News: Former Green Bay Packers coach fired due to performance in divisional playoff round

The Green Bay Packers shocked the NFL world.
After starting the season 3-6 and falling off the radar of most NFL playoff teams, the Packers are now one of the last eight teams remaining in the league.
With four straight wins, the Packers advanced not only to the playoffs, but also to the divisional round.
However, things aren’t so easy for the Packers as their next game is against the San Francisco 49ers in California.
Unfortunately, the former Packers coach will be watching Saturday’s game wondering where his NFL career will take him next.
According to multiple team sources, the team and Van Pelt discussed reassigning roles on the coaching staff, but ultimately the two sides decided to part ways.
A Browns spokesperson said early Wednesday that Van Pelt “remains under contract and no final decisions have been made.

” As part of a personnel restructuring, the Browns have decided to fire running backs coach Stamp Mitchell and terminate the contract of tight ends coach T.C.
Mitchell.
Do not extend.
McCartney.
Mitchell has been a member of Cleveland’s staff since 2019, a year before head coach Kevin Stefanski was hired.
McCartney came to Cleveland with Stefanski in 2020.
Stefanski was Cleveland’s primary play-caller, but Van Pelt held the title of offensive coordinator starting in 2020.
Previously, he was the quarterbacks coach for the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers.
Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, who served as Green Bay’s quarterbacks coach from 2014 to 2017, has been relieved of his duties.
Mike McCarthy, currently head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, was Van Pelt’s only head coach in Green Bay.
During his time in Green Bay, the Packers won his second NFC Championship appearance and third consecutive year.
It was somewhat surprising that the Browns moved on from Joe Flacco, as the team had great success after he took over as the starting quarterback.
Additionally, the Browns secured a spot in the playoffs (although they lost to Houston in the wild card round).
Van Pelt will definitely pique the interest of the entire league.
