Although Henry is not the same player who won AP Offensive Player of the Year in 2020 by rushing for 2,027 yards, the Eagles would be a great fit for Henry if the team’s next offensive coordinator is committed to the run.
LeGarrette Blount, a former Patriot, was signed by the Eagles prior to their 2017 Super Bowl run. Blount was Henry’s size, bruising, and straightforward running style. That year, Blount rushed for 766 yards, most of it on first downs, averaging 5.6 yards per carry.
Kenneth Gainwell, a former Titan and future Hall of Famer, would be an immediate fan favorite in a committee with Henry, despite the fact that Henry’s days as a feature back are likely over.
Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers: If the Eagles don’t sign D’Andre Swift again, Pittsburgh’s leading rusher could be a good replacement. Despite the fact that he is not eligible for free agency, Philadelphia traded for Swift in the offseason.
