As the primary month of 2024 comes to a nearby, there are a few Nashville Hunters prospect storylines worth following, including an eight-game series of wins for the AHL’s Milwaukee Naval commanders, another captaincy declaration in the WHL.

The Admirals have been on fire recently, winning eight of their last nine games to move into first place in the Western Conference.

Naturally, goaltender Yaroslav Askarov has been a key part of the Ads’ success, winning in all seven of his last starts, including two back-to-back victories and three shutouts.

Askarov is third among qualified AHL netminders in goals against average (.16), fourth in save percentage (.922), third in shutouts (three), and fifth in wins (14) in his second season with Milwaukee.

On Wednesday, the Predators’ defensive prospect Luke Prokop ended his seven-game point streak, but he still managed to give out nine assists.

Prokop leads all Atlanta Gladiators defensemen in assists (15), points (18), and shots (79) in his first professional season in North America.

In the midst of a stellar season, Graham Sward, a 2022 fifth-round pick, was named captain of the Wenatchee Wild of the WHL on Friday.

Sward is tied for 17th among all WHL skaters in points and leads all WHL blueliners in assists (45) and points (56). Sward has surpassed his 2021-22 Western League career highs for goals, assists, and points after 43 games into the 2023-24 season.

Additionally, the blueliner scored six points per game between December 28 and January. 16 (4g-5a).

Sutter Muzzatti, a 2023 fifth-round pick, has been consistently producing in Troy, New York.

The Preds prospect is in his second collegiate season with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has played 23 games and scored 19 points (6g-13a), seven of which were in his last four games (1g-6a).

In terms of goals and points, Muzzatti is second among Engineers.

Simon Knak, a forward prospect in Switzerland’s National League, is currently on a three-game point and goal streak (3g).

In 30 games, Nashville’s sole Swiss prospect has scored 12 points (5g-7a) and a +7 rating.
