Lovelace – who had been out since October – came on in the 54th minute of the 3-0 loss to Celtic at Lennoxtown. And B team boss David McCallum has revealed regular game time in the B team is planned for the forward in a bid to get him back up to speed to join the first-team.

He said: “For Zak, he gets injured playing for the first team and that’s where we want to get him back to.

“This is his first step back to that, we always had a plan to play him today for 30 minutes that was the return to play we were working towards.

“We are pleased for that.”
