‘Latest news’… Daniel Farke says 33-year-old Leeds United player is still out for the next two weeks

Daniel Farke has provided a fresh team news update on his Leeds United squad ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Rotherham United.

The Whites were without five players for Tuesday’s FA Cup victory at Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday night, though Connor Roberts and Jamie Shackleton are among those who could return.

Pascal Struijk, Dan James and Karl Darlow were Leeds’ only other absentees in midweek, but it appears as though none of that trio are back in contention for the Yorkshire derby at Elland Road.

Darlow has become somewhat of the forgotten man at Leeds, having been out of action since the final game of 2023 after dislocating his thumb in the warm-up before the 1-0 defeat at West Brom.

Speaking in his pre-match press conferenceearlier today, though, Farke has provided a new update on Darlow’s condition, and is hopeful he will be back training in the next two weeks.

Farke shares update on Darlow fitness

He said: “Latest news is in two weeks he can return to team training and hopefully then available for the games. Right now he’s doing fitness stuff.”

Darlow had been fit for the entirety of his time at Leeds following his summer move from Newcastle United, until he was finally in line for a period of matches in the side.
