LA Clippers Make Trade With Denver Nuggets.

It was an incredibly quiet trade deadline for the LA Clippers, but they did actually make one reported move – they acquired a young new player from the Denver Nuggets.
According to Law Murray of The Athletic and Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, the LA Clippers have traded cash for the draft rights of center Ismael Kamagate. Kamagate was the 46th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Even though he was drafted by the Nuggets, he’s continued to play in Europe and has not played in the NBA.
In the 2023 Paris Eurocup, Kamagate averaged 10.0 points and 7.5 rebounds on 80% shooting. He’s 6’1″ and still only 23 years old. Kamagate is currently playing for the Derthona Basket team in Italy.
Perhaps the most puzzling part of the Clippers trade deadline was their current situation with P.J. Tucker. Tucker has openly stated numerous times that he would like a trade from the LA Clippers and wants to play for another team. In all likelihood, the Clippers may have struggled to find a decent package or suitor for him and that’s why he remains with the team. It doesn’t seem like Tucker’s attitude is a detriment in the locker room, but one would have to assume the team would waive him if that were to happen.
For now, the LA Clippers remain arguably the best team in basketball, with one small weakness at rebounding and size.
