Anthony Davis revealed that if there was one player that he could have played with in NBA history, it would have been Kobe Bryant.
Though Davis and Bryant did actually get the chance to play together as part of Team USA’s gold medal-winning team at the 2012 London Olympic Games, he clarified that Bryant is the player he’d most like to play with in the same NBA season.During that Olympic run, Davis and Bryant established a relationship, and the then-rookie got to learn from the Hall of Fame-bound Bryant.
While Davis is now on the Los Angeles Lakers, he did not get to Los Angeles until three years after Bryant retired from the NBA. The two stars did get to face each other seven times while Davis was with the New Orleans Pelicans, with Bryant’s Lakers winning four of those matchups.It’s not surprising that Davis would have loved to play on the same NBA team as Bryant, as many current and former NBA players share that sentiment. Though Bryant wasn’t always the easiest teammate at points in his career, he was one of the most competitive and hardworking players.
