Sad News : Cleveland Browns Head Coach Has Make A Deal Today….

When I think about Jerry Jeudy, I can only think of one word: speed.

Although his NFL career has had an up and down start, the fourth-year player from Alabama has always been a threat with his speed. He started out the season with a bang in 2020, but a season marred by injuries in 2021 sent him into decline. Before his stats declined once more this past season, he had a career-best campaign the year after his rest.

This trade to Cleveland gives Jeudy a fresh start and gives the Browns something that they desperately need, and that is a vertical stretch big play guy.

Jeudy is listed at 6’1 but plays much bigger than that at times and his tape is littered with a variety of big plays. He was trusted to be the guy to stretch the field and catch the home run ball but also fly underneath and turn a 5-yard catch into a 20-plus yard gain.

Not only is he a perfect match for what Cleveland needed, but he is also a too that Browns Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey is going to maximize.

We broke down Ken Dorsey’s offensive philosophy weeks back on Brownie Breakdowns (video below) and one thing that was shockingly apparent was his reliance on the vertical play.

The Bills built their offense around Josh Allen’s massive arm and play makers in the passing game like Stephon Diggs and Gabe Davis, using their stretch the field as an asset. It ended up leading to their demise in Buffalo but in my opinion, it is exactly what head coach and play caller Kevin Stefanski needs to add to his philosophy.

Jeudy’s ability to be such vertical weapon marries perfectly with this Cleveland offense. While he stretches the field and commands the defenses’ attention, everything in the intermediate and short game opens up for Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore and David Njoku.
