Dangerous injury: 49ers reportedly confirmed saddest injury ….

Greenlaw needed help off the field, which several 49ers beat reporters noticed without seeing exactly what had happened.

When CBS showed the video replay after a commercial break, it became clear that Greenlaw’s left leg slipped out as he was revving himself up to go on the field.

Greenlaw appeared visibly upset on the telecast. CBS sideline reporter Evan Washburn said Greenlaw couldn’t put any weight on his left leg as the broadcast showed Greenlaw arriving at the locker room.

The linebacker was officially ruled out of the game with an Achilles injury by the 49ers. Greenlaw missed the 49ers’ final regular season game with Achilles tendinitis and was on the injury report for the same reason ahead of San Francisco’s divisional round game against the Packers. He played in that game though, grabbing two interceptions, and also appeared in the NFC title game.

The 49ers substituted Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles into the team’s standard defense in Greenlaw’s place.
