Green Bay Packers GM Makes Powerful Statement Regarding Prospect They Refused To Host.

The Green Bay Packers have been doing their homework leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft.  With five picks in the first three rounds, the Packers have a ton of firepower to add some serious talent.

Most analysts project the Packers to address Safety, Offensive Tackle, and Linebacker at some point in the first three rounds.  Those are regarded at the Packers’ biggest needs going into the 2024 season.

One defensive back that the Packers chose not to bring in for a pre-draft visit, still has the eye of the general manager.

Green Bay Packers GM Brian Gutekunst Speaks On One Prospect The Packers Didn’t Bring In For A Visit

According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:

Gutekunst on Cooper DeJean playing corner and safety:

“I think he can do both. I think he’s very versatile that way. I think he’s obviously a very good athlete. His ability to take the ball away is very impressive. Obviously he’s got some teams ability as well, so he’s a very well-rounded player.”

In free agency, the Packers signed Xavier McKinney to take care of their huge need at safety. Their defense allowed 20.6 points per game, 10th best in the NFL last season. In addition to Jaire Alexander at corner, the Packers also have a good number of pass rushers.

That being said, their defense still has a few holes to fill before they start to think championship.  One of those needs is finding another Safety / Defensive Back to pair with McKinney.
