DONE DEAL: Rangers have made the signing £6m Abdallah Sima deal -sources…

Rangers could now complete £6m Abdallah Sima deal -sources.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Sima does not fit into the long-term plans of his parent club Brighton.

Now, it is believed that the Seagulls are willing to break even on Sima, 22, and accept a £6million bid – the same fee they paid Slavia Prague for him in the summer of 2021.

The Premier League side had previously valued Sima at between £10-15million, meaning Rangers would have likely needed to break their all-time record transfer to keep him at Ibrox.

Abdallah Sima to make permanent Rangers move this summer?

However, they are well-placed to secure him at a bargain price.

The Senegal international has been one of the Gers’ best players this season having bagged 16 goals and two assists in all competitions.

He has scored game-winning goals in the Europa League before their elimination in the last-16 and 11 strikes in the league, most recently the second goal in the 3-3 Old Firm thriller earlier this month (7 April).

However, injuries have hampered his season and following a 13-game stretch on the sidelines with a hamstring issue, he picked up another knock in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday (21 April).

Regardless, well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Sima’s injury issues will not prevent Rangers from seeking a permanent move.

However, Football Insider also revealed (11 April) that the forward is attracting interest from clubs in the Premier League and top five European leagues.

Rangers sit three points behind league leaders Celtic and most recently advanced to the final of the Scottish Cup after their 2-0 win against Hearts.

They return to league action on Sunday afternoon (28 April) with their away clash against St Mirren.
