Football fans eagerly await the night before the 2024 NFL Draft, which is like Christmas Eve.

One intriguing prospect is J.J. McCarthy, the national champion quarterback of the Michigan Wolverines, who will receive much attention during Thursday night’s first round of selections.

NFL Network Draft Analyst Daniel Jeremiah ranked McCarthy as the 20th prospect in his final draft board rankings ahead of Thursday night. Only quarterbacks Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye ranked higher.

Earlier today, the 21-year-old McCarthy appeared on the Rich Eisen Show to discuss the teams he has spent the most time with and where he has an idea of landing.

McCarthy has also met with the Washington Commanders, New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, and Minnesota Vikings during the pre-draft process,

The Giants have the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. There have been rumors that the team is interested in drafting one of the top quarterbacks in the draft, such as North Carolina’s Drake Maye. However, a trade would likely need to be arranged for this to happen.

While the top three signal callers could likely come off the board before the Giants are on the clock, General Manager Joe Schoen could find himself in an intriguing position to move back and allocate more picks with a team that could be zeroed in on landing McCarthy.

That is unless the Giants pull the trigger on the young quarterback. For now, there are plenty of scenarios for how the first round could play out in New York, and come Thursday night, we will have our answers.
