The players of the Sydney Roosters have been more than just athletes to me; they have become family. Their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to the game have inspired me every single day. It is because of them that I have grown not only as a coach but as a person.
However, despite the countless victories and achievements we have celebrated together, I cannot ignore the underlying reasons behind my decision to step down. At the core of it all lies a profound concern for the well-being and future success of the players. As their coach, I have always strived to prioritize their development, both on and off the field. But lately, I have come to realize that there are certain aspects of the coaching role that I can no longer fulfill to the best of my abilities.
The demands of professional sports are immense, and they can take a toll on even the strongest of individuals. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the physical and mental challenges that our players face day in and day out. While I have done my utmost to support them through these trials, I have also come to recognize the importance of stepping back and allowing them the space to grow and evolve on their own terms.

By stepping down as head coach, I am not only creating an opportunity for someone new to take the helm but also giving the players a chance to experience different leadership styles and perspectives.
