For years, he’s been a pillar of guidance, strength, and knowledge for the linebackers of the Las Vegas Raiders. But today, he’s about to deliver a speech that will bring an end to his storied career with the team.
“Dear Raiders family,
As I stand before you today, it is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation as the linebackers coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. This decision has not come lightly, and it’s one that I’ve pondered deeply over the past few months.
Coaching has been more than just a profession to me; it’s been a passion, a calling, and a way of life. From the moment I stepped onto the field as a player to my transition into coaching, football has been ingrained in every fiber of my being. And being a part of the Raiders organization has been an incredible journey—one filled with triumphs, challenges, and unforgettable moments.
But as much as I love this team, this game, and all of you, there comes a time when we must listen to the whispers of our hearts and heed the call of change. For me, that time has arrived.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to Mark Davis, Coach Gruden, and the entire Raiders organization for giving me the opportunity to serve as your linebackers coach. It has been an honor and a privilege to work alongside some of the most talented athletes and coaches in the NFL. Together, we’ve shared victories that will forever be etched in the annals of Raiders history, and for that, I am truly grateful.
To my linebackers—the warriors on the front lines of the gridiron—I want to thank you for your dedication, your passion, and your unwavering commitment to excellence. It has been a privilege to coach each and every one of you, to witness your growth, and to be a part of your journey both on and off the field. Remember that the lessons you’ve learned here will stay with you long after you hang up your cleats.
As I take this next step in my career, I do so with a mixture of excitement and sadness. Excitement for the new opportunities that lie ahead, and sadness at leaving behind a team and a family that will always hold a special place in my heart. But I leave knowing that the Silver and Black will continue to shine bright, fueled by the passion and dedication of everyone who wears the shield.
In closing, I want to thank each and every one of you—from the front office to the practice squad—for your unwavering support and friendship. The memories we’ve created together will last a lifetime, and I am forever grateful for the time we’ve shared.
