Celtic set to seal Paulo Bernardo deal with Benfica.

Paulo Bernardo’s permanent deal with Benfica is allegedly in discussion between Celtic and the club. The 22-year-old came from the Portuguese side on a loan with a buyout option, though it was unclear if this would be used.

The teams are reportedly in talks to sign the U21 Internationalist, according to Portuguese publication A Bola. According to reports, Celtic is open to a transaction but is unwilling to pay the £6 million “guide price.” According to the terms of the loan, Celtic may change the amount if they so desired.

In 33 games in all competitions, the midfielder contributed three assists and four goals. There were glimpses throughout the season of what Bernardo may become under Brendan’s guidance, even though he did not have the same prolific numbers as his teammate O’Riley. It is Rodgers’ hope that he can return to Paradise with Bernardo and another loan star.

The manager of Celtic has declared his desire to sign Idah for a long-term contract; a reported £6 million is up for discussion. Since his arrival in the January window, the large striker has performed admirably.
