Now that the Celtics and Mavericks have easily won their respective conference finals, the Larry O’Brien Trophy final matchup between Boston and Dallas is set to begin on June 6 at the Celtics’ home court. As a result, fans will have to wait around impatiently for approximately a week.

Thursday night, Dallas completed a 4-1 triumph over Minnesota in the Western Conference finals by defeating them 124-103. After the Celtics defeated Indiana 108-105 to wrap off a 4-0 series in the East, Boston secured their berth on Monday night.

During Thursday night’s on-court festivities in Minneapolis, Doncic declared, “We’re going to the NBA Finals.” “It’s unbelievable, dude.”

Following their six-game loss to Golden State in 2002, Boston has made it to the finals twice in the last three seasons. Dallas is making their first appearance in the championship round since defeating Miami in 2011.

The Celtics and Irving meeting with a championship on the line will receive a lot of attention, and with good reason. With the intention of having Irving walk across its parquet floor for the NBA Finals, Boston executed a sensational trade for him in 2017.
