Crisis at West Ham: Nuno Espírito Santo Under Sack Warning With Forest Showdown Set to Decide His Fate

Nuno Espírito Santo could be sacked if West Ham fail to win their next Premier League match, according to Arsenal legend Ray Parlour.

The West Ham manager is under intense pressure following a 3–0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday — a result that handed Wolves their first league win of the season.

Ray Parlour: “I Don’t Think He Lasts”

Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast, Parlour was blunt about Nuno’s future:

“I don’t think he lasts. I think this is the last game he’s got.
Something’s gone wrong.”

Parlour believes defeat against 17th-placed Nottingham Forest on Tuesday would almost certainly end Nuno’s tenure.

League Position Worsens the Pressure

  • West Ham sit 18th with 14 points

  • They are four points adrift of safety

  • A loss to Forest would extend the gap to seven points

  • The Hammers are on a nine-game winless run

  • Last victory: November 8 (3–2 vs Burnley)

Nuno has won just two of his 15 matches in charge.

Parlour Defends Manager, Slams Players

Despite the poor results, Parlour stopped short of blaming Nuno alone, instead questioning the players’ effort:

“You put on that West Ham shirt, you’ve got to run through a brick wall.”

He added that fans can accept poor performances — but not a lack of effort.

Possible Replacements Already Lined Up

If Tuesday proves to be Nuno’s final game, West Ham may already have alternatives ready:

🔁 Slaven Bilic

  • Former West Ham boss

  • On standby, according to talkSPORT

  • Previously considered after Graham Potter’s sacking

🔁 Michael Carrick

  • Former West Ham midfielder

  • Viewed as a strong internal option

  • Has been sounded out before

Club owner David Sullivan initially explored Bilic but was persuaded by the board to appoint Nuno, following his Europa League success with Forest last season.
