Conflicting Danish and German reports on medical timing highlight uncertainty, but Rangers’ move for Skov Olsen still overlined as final talks with Wolfsburg continue

Rangers’ Move for Andreas Skov Olsen Still on Track Despite Reported Delay

Rangers’ pursuit of Andreas Skov Olsen continues to progress, although the timing of his medical may slip slightly later into the week. Danny Röhl’s side remain confident of completing the deal, and nothing so far suggests the move is in danger.

Initial reports in Germany on Monday confirmed Rangers’ interest in the VfL Wolfsburg winger, and Bild followed up by revealing that negotiations between the clubs had already begun. Shortly after, Bold added that Wolfsburg were pushing for a loan fee and were open to including a purchase option in the agreement—details both clubs discussed during Tuesday’s talks.

Tipsbladet then reported this morning that Rangers had agreed to Wolfsburg’s conditions, including the loan fee and purchase option, and claimed Skov Olsen was scheduled to travel for his medical and contract signing today. However, Bold quickly countered, stating that negotiations were still ongoing and the final steps of the deal were being ironed out.

Despite the differing timelines, the Danish outlet made it clear there is no threat to the transfer collapsing. Instead, the expectation remains that Rangers and Wolfsburg will finalise terms, keeping the operation firmly on track.

Skov Olsen is reportedly in Wolfsburg today, awaiting the official green light from the club to complete the switch to Ibrox. This approval is expected to arrive at some point this week. Wolfsburg are set to face FC St. Pauli today, and the winger is unlikely to be involved regardless of whether he travels to Scotland immediately.

Given Tipsbladet’s strong sourcing, their initial claim about the medical likely wasn’t speculation—but the timing may simply shift as final details are settled between clubs. For now, it’s a matter of when, not if, Rangers secure their latest attacking addition.
