Nottingham Forest Confirm New Summer Signing Interest As Third Transfer Of The Window Advances

Nottingham Forest are advancing talks for their third summer transfer of the window, with Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders firmly in their sights.

The 28-year-old Netherlands international has emerged as a priority target for Oliver Glasner’s side as they look to strengthen the midfield following the high-profile departure of Elliot Anderson to Manchester City earlier this summer.

Forest have already completed two deals this window — Xaver Schlager on a free transfer from RB Leipzig and Gustavo Sa from Famalicão — and are now working hard to make Reijnders their third addition before the deadline.

Reijnders, who joined City from AC Milan last summer, has found first-team opportunities limited this campaign and is understood to be open to a move that would guarantee him more regular football. Nottingham Forest’s interest has grown in recent weeks, with the club viewing the Dutchman as an ideal fit for Glasner’s system.

Sources close to the negotiations suggest Forest are prepared to meet a substantial portion of City’s valuation, which has been reported in the region of £55 million. Talks remain ongoing, and while no agreement has yet been reached, progress is being made on both the transfer fee and personal terms.

Glasner is keen to add experience and quality in central midfield, and Reijnders’ ability to contribute goals and assists from deeper positions has made him an attractive option. The player’s Premier League experience and international pedigree are also seen as major positives.

Forest fans will be watching developments closely over the coming days. Should the deal be finalised, Reijnders would become the club’s third confirmed summer signing and a significant statement of intent as they prepare for the new Premier League season.

Further updates are expected as negotiations continue.
