One big advantage puts Norwich City in pole position for Leeds star

Leeds United still have a number of key decisions to make this summer, although one major call regarding a player’s future already appears to have been settled.

There is growing optimism around Elland Road ahead of the transfer window, after the Whites comfortably secured a 14th-place finish in their first season back in the Premier League.

Attention has now turned to strengthening the squad and bringing in players capable of raising the overall level. Daniel Farke is keen to add depth and quality ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, as Leeds aim to build on last season’s progress rather than simply maintain it.

However, player sales are also required, and the club are actively seeking solutions for several players who are not in Farke’s plans for next season.

One of those is Largie Ramazani, who is expected to depart, with Norwich City currently leading the race for his signature this summer.

Norwich hold advantage over Valencia in Ramazani chase

Ramazani spent last season on loan at Valencia but is now set to return to Leeds, with his long-term future still unresolved.

Valencia have recently held discussions with Leeds over a possible permanent move back to the Mestalla, but both sides remain far apart in terms of valuation.

The Spanish club are reportedly willing to offer less than half of Leeds’ asking price, while Norwich City’s involvement has further complicated negotiations.

Norwich are actively pushing to secure the winger’s signing and are believed to hold a significant financial edge in the race.

According to Levante-EMV, the Canaries are prepared to offer both a substantial transfer fee and higher wages than Valencia can match.

Valencia, meanwhile, are unable to compete with the salary Norwich are offering and are instead hoping that Carlos Corberán can persuade Ramazani to return to Spain by appealing to his personal and emotional ties to the club.

Leeds looking for a swift resolution

Ramazani now appears to have no clear role in Farke’s plans, and Leeds will be hoping that interest from both Norwich and Valencia quickly develops into formal offers in the coming weeks.

All parties would prefer the situation to be resolved before pre-season begins, as neither the club nor the player will want uncertainty heading into preparations for the new campaign.

Farke was never fully convinced by Ramazani, even during Leeds’ Championship campaign, and previous concerns over his attitude during his spell in Spain are unlikely to have improved his standing.

With pre-season approaching, Leeds will be keen to settle his future as soon as possible.
