Roy Keane Reacts To Elliott Anderson’s Move To Man City: “He Wants To Lift Trophies And Win Ballon d’Or maybe”

Roy Keane has given his honest reaction to Elliott Anderson’s big-money move from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City, suggesting the young midfielder is driven by major ambitions.

Speaking in a recent interview, the former Manchester United captain and pundit was asked about Anderson’s departure from the City Ground to the Premier League champions.

Keane, known for his straight-talking style, didn’t hold back when sharing his thoughts.

“He wants to lift trophies and win Ballon d’Or maybe,” Keane said with a slight smile. “That’s the ambition talking. Elliott has been a very good player for Nottingham Forest, but at this stage of his career he’s looking for the next challenge. Manchester City can offer him that platform if he works hard.”

Keane went on to praise Anderson’s technical ability and work rate but warned that the move to City would come with high expectations and tough competition.

“You don’t go to a club like Manchester City just for the money. He clearly believes he can win things there and push himself to the highest level. Whether he gets regular game time is another question, but the ambition is there and I respect that.”

Elliott Anderson’s departure has left a creative void in Nottingham Forest’s midfield. The club is now actively looking for replacements, with several targets already under consideration.

Manchester City see Anderson as a long-term option who can develop into a key squad player under Pep Guardiola.

Keane’s comments have sparked debate among fans, with some Forest supporters disappointed to lose a homegrown talent, while others understand the player’s desire to join a club with title-winning pedigree.

Whether Anderson can make a significant impact at City remains to be seen, but Keane believes the move shows the right mentality.
