Key Rangers Star Agrees Deal With European Giants as Two Replacements Identified

Rangers could be preparing for one of their biggest departures of the summer after reports linked Nicolas Raskin with a move to Europe following his impressive performances for Belgium.

The 25-year-old midfielder has emerged as one of Rangers’ most valuable assets, with several top clubs monitoring his situation as Derek McInnes continues his rebuild at Ibrox.

European Interest Growing

Raskin has enjoyed an outstanding rise since arriving from Standard Liège in 2023, establishing himself as one of the first names on the Rangers team sheet.

His displays for Belgium have only strengthened his reputation, with Serie A sides Atalanta and Bologna, alongside Spanish outfit Real Betis, all credited with strong interest in the midfielder.

Reports suggest Rangers could demand as much as £25 million before considering any offer, knowing Raskin remains under contract and is regarded as a key player.

While speculation continues, no transfer has yet been agreed between Rangers, the player and any interested club.

Rangers Already Eyeing Replacements

With interest in Raskin intensifying, Rangers are believed to have identified two midfielders who could strengthen the squad if the Belgian departs.

Lewis Ferguson

Scotland international Lewis Ferguson remains one of Rangers’ leading targets.

The Bologna captain has developed into one of Serie A’s most consistent midfielders and is valued at more than £17 million. Ferguson also has strong Rangers connections through his father Derek and uncle Barry, while Derek McInnes knows him well from their successful spell together at Aberdeen.

A return to Scotland would represent one of the biggest transfers in Rangers’ recent history.

Vanja Dragojević

Another player on Rangers’ shortlist is highly-rated Partizan Belgrade midfielder Vanja Dragojević.

The 20-year-old Serbian has attracted widespread attention after impressive performances at the World Cup, and Rangers are understood to have already seen an opening bid rejected.

Partizan are believed to be holding firm on the player’s valuation as interest from across Europe continues to grow.

Rebuild Continues at Ibrox

Rangers have already strengthened significantly this summer with the arrivals of Lawrence Shankland, Ross McCrorie, Ben Godfrey, Ivor Pandur and Dan Neil.

Should Raskin leave for a fee close to the reported £25 million valuation, the club would have significant funds available to continue reshaping the squad under McInnes.

The Bottom Line

Nicolas Raskin continues to attract serious interest from clubs across Europe, but Rangers remain in a strong negotiating position.

With Lewis Ferguson and Vanja Dragojević already identified as potential replacements, the Ibrox side appear to be planning for every eventuality as their summer rebuild gathers momentum.
