Transfer Twist: Gladbach Will Consider Nico Elvedi Bids as Leeds United Monitor Situation

Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder has confirmed the club is open to listening to offers for Nico Elvedi, who has recently been linked with a summer move to Leeds United.

With only a year left on his current contract, the 29-year-old centre-back could be set to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach during this transfer window.

Elvedi has been repeatedly tipped for a switch to the Premier League in recent years, and recent reports claim Leeds United are weighing up a move for the Switzerland international.

Speaking about the defender’s future after Switzerland’s World Cup quarter-final exit to Argentina, Schröder admitted the Bundesliga club would assess any proposals that arrive.

“Nico Elvedi had an outstanding World Cup. If offers come in, we will evaluate them carefully and consider our options,” Schröder told Rheinische Post.

Schröder also expects transfer activity to increase once the World Cup concludes.

“The market hasn’t really started moving yet. I’m interested to see how things develop once the World Cup final is over,” he added.
