West Ham Face Huge Crysencio Summerville Decision as Roma Launch £34m Bid

Roma Table £34m Bid for Crysencio Summerville as West Ham Stand Firm on Valuation

Crysencio Summerville is emerging as the next player who could leave West Ham United this summer, with interest in the winger continuing to gather pace following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

The Dutch forward, who remains on an extended break after an impressive FIFA Club World Cup campaign, has yet to rejoin West Ham for pre-season. His absence has only intensified speculation surrounding his future, with Roma and Manchester United among the clubs tracking his situation.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have made their move by submitting a £34 million offer for Summerville. The Serie A side are keen to strengthen their attacking options, although discussions have not been straightforward.

The report states that negotiations were initially complicated by the player’s wage demands, with Summerville seeking a salary of approximately £98,000 per week (£5.1 million annually). However, those demands have reportedly been lowered, allowing talks to progress.

Despite Roma’s approach, West Ham are in no rush to sanction a sale. The Hammers are understood to value Summerville at around £50 million and are well positioned financially following the £85 million sale of Mateus Fernandes earlier in the transfer window.

Manchester United’s continued interest could also strengthen West Ham’s negotiating position, potentially driving up the fee for one of the club’s most valuable assets.

Roma, like many Serie A clubs, have often favoured structured deals involving loans with options or obligations to buy. However, West Ham are expected to insist on a permanent transfer that reflects their valuation, rather than compromise on terms.

For now, the club’s stance appears clear: any interested side must meet their asking price if they want to secure Summerville’s signature.

While the winger’s future remains uncertain, West Ham must also turn their attention to recruitment. With preparations for the Championship campaign underway, manager Nuno Espírito Santo will be keen to strengthen his squad and ensure the club is well equipped for the challenge of securing an immediate return to the Premier League.
