Ira Winderman of The Sun Sentinel reports that there is “legitimate optimism” that Rozier will return one or more games after the All-Star break, despite the fact that Winderman notes the Heat have a history of being conservative when it comes to injuries.

Midway through Sunday’s game against Boston in the third quarter, Rozier sustained the ominous-looking injury. During an attempted layup, he landed awkwardly on his right leg, requiring assistance from trainers to get to the locker room.

In order to acquire Rozier from Charlotte last month, the Heat sacrificed Kyle Lowry and their lottery-protected 2027 first-round pick. The Heat will reportedly submit their unprotected 2028 first-round pick in lieu of the pick in 2027 if it doesn’t convey.

However, he has struggled early in his Heat career, averaging just 12.6 PPG, 5.6 APG, 4.5 RPG, and 0.8 SPG on.359/.234/.958 shooting through 10 games (29.9 MPG).

Josh Richardson, another guard, sustained a dislocated right shoulder during the second quarter of the game against Boston. In a few weeks, Charania says, he will be reevaluated.
