Just before 11:30 p.m., Phoenix police said they were summoned to the vicinity of 20th and Washington streets in reference to a light rail collision.

Officers discovered a collision between a light rail train and a black automobile when they arrived.

With severe injuries, the two women in the automobile were sent to the hospital.

At the hospital, the driver passed away from her wounds. She was later recognized by police as Sandra Barbre, 76.
