Barca’s Coach Xavi Casts Doubt on the Haaland-Mbappe Transfer Connection

Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are two superstar forwards that FC Barcelona cannot afford, as FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has stated.

FC Barcelona and Xavi are having financial and on-field difficulties. After being humiliated in the UEFA Champions League, they surprised the majority of their detractors by winning the Spanish La Liga the previous season.

It’s interesting to note that despite their struggles in La Liga thus far this season, they easily advanced to the next round of the Champions League.

With 38 points from 18 games, Xavi and his team are currently 7 points behind Real Madrid in first place in the league standings.

The majority of analysts think that FC Barcelona’s main offensive issue this year is that 35-year-old Robert Lewandowski is not as talented as he once was.

Thus, rumors have been circulating that Xavi is thinking about replacing the Polish striker on a long-term basis with a top striker like Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain or Erling Haaland of Manchester City.

But Xavi emphasized that Barcelona is not prepared to make such a high-profile acquisition before of Wednesday’s league matchup against Las Palmas, which is set to begin at 9:30 p.m.

Xavi remarked, “Mbappé or Haaland? Haaland or Mbappé are not available to join Barça at this time. Sadly, we are unable to afford these players.

“With the players I have, I’m content. We must perform to the best of our abilities because we must constantly remain at the top of this club.
