Nottingham Forest transfer window: Nuno wants a small team – and the impact of PSR

Nottingham Forest made a key signing in December, appointing head coach Nuno Espirito Santo as head coach.
However, further signings in the January window could become more difficult after it was found there was a risk of breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).
Still, after Nuno replaced Steve Cooper, he didn’t sound keen to spend money.
He said it will take time to be able to properly assess how to strengthen the squad, and said a further meeting took place on Wednesday when players and coaching staff returned to training after a short break.
Nuno believes that the force he inherited needs to be reduced, not strengthened.
Forest are expected to make one to three key additions, but the bulk of the deal is expected to include departures.
Here we’ll see how things play out from now until the end of January.
