Encouraging domestic talent to advance through the ranks may guarantee a pipeline of players who might eventually break into the first squad while also saving millions on player acquisition.

Although the Bhoys have recently failed to hold onto their most talented young players, Callum McGregor, James Forrest, Stephen Welsh, and Anthony Ralston are all genuine instances of this.

Brendan Rodgers has hinted that he could attempt to close the gap between the senior team and the youth setup.

“Everyone talks about signings and bringing people in,” the 51-year-old said last month. “I always say that you might have someone within your academy, but you need to have the space for those players to flourish and develop.”

Since Rocco Vata and Daniel Kelly have been included to many recent matchday teams, his remarks have started to gain traction.

Calvin Keenan, a young player for Celtic, deserves congratulations. The Bhoys have declared that Keenan has signed his first professional deal with the team.

The 15-year-old Kilmarnock native signed a contract that would last until December 2026 after making an impression at the young level and going over his age bracket [Celtic FC official website].

Prior to joining the Hoops in January 2023, Keenan was a member of Ayr United, a team in the Scottish Championship.

In the upcoming years, as he advances through the ranks under the supervision of academy officials, his name will probably be one to watch.
