Despite having three victories in an otherwise extremely poor season, Fields had showed a lot of promise, so last year the Bears chose to hang onto him.
The organization may be leaning toward dealing Fields and selecting a quarterback at No. 1 since, despite the fact that the team increased its win total by four after the 2023 campaign, Fields didn’t appear to really improve in any way.
The Bears have not officially announced their plans, but all indications point to Fields joining a different club and Chicago adding Caleb Williams, the standout player from USC.
Next week, the Bears will make their plans for Fields public, according to Albert Breer of NBC Sports Boston, via Dov Kleiman.
The Bears should have no trouble finding trade suitors because several teams in the league are searching for an improvement at quarterback, which may expedite and simplify the process.
It is unknown at this moment which team or teams are pursuing Fields, but that is probably what the organization’s brass is presently considering before deciding whether or not to strike a deal.
But Williams is such a bright young player that a move appears likely.
