From Stamford Bridge to the Stadium of Light: Chelsea Striker Emerges as Shock Sunderland Transfer Target

Sunderland have been linked with a move for Chelsea forward  as the Premier League club prepares for the upcoming season, which will see them compete in the UEFA Europa League.

The 22-year-old Spanish striker has reportedly attracted interest from the Black Cats, who are seeking to strengthen their attacking options following their return to European competition. Guiu, who progressed through Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy before joining Chelsea in 2024, offers technical quality, physical presence, and goal-scoring instincts.

While first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge have been limited, a move to Sunderland could provide the consistent playing time required for further development. Sunderland’s management is understood to view Guiu as a player who aligns with the club’s strategy of investing in young, high-potential talent.

Chelsea are believed to be open to discussions regarding a loan or permanent transfer for certain squad members as they refine their roster. Early talks between the clubs are said to be underway, although no formal agreement has been reached at this stage.

This potential transfer would represent a significant step for both player and club, with Sunderland aiming to build a competitive squad capable of balancing domestic and European commitments.
