🚨 BREAKING: Wilfried Zaha Available for £0 as Wolves, West Ham & Birmingham City Face Huge Transfer Twist!
Wilfried Zaha is available on a free transfer and could represent a major opportunity for Wolves, West Ham and Birmingham City as all three clubs look to strengthen their squads before the transfer window closes.
The experienced winger is searching for a new club after leaving Galatasaray when his contract with the Turkish side expired this summer. At 33, Zaha remains a familiar and highly respected name in English football, having established himself as a Crystal Palace legend during two spells at Selhurst Park.
Zaha has also played for Manchester United and Cardiff City, while more recently enjoying loan spells with Lyon and Charlotte FC. Although he may no longer possess the explosive pace that made him one of the Premier League’s most dangerous wingers in his prime, his experience, technical ability and unpredictability could still make him a valuable addition.
The Ivory Coast international has been training with Crystal Palace to maintain his fitness while he searches for his next permanent destination.
With Zaha available for nothing, three Championship clubs could now have a major decision to make.
Wolves
Wolves remain among the favourites for promotion, but their lack of attacking depth was exposed on Friday night.
With Hwang Hee-chan seemingly having no future at the club and Rafiki Said facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Cesar Peixoto has limited natural wide options beyond Mateus Mane and Rodrigo Gomes.
Both youngsters have plenty of potential, particularly Mane, but relying heavily on two young players throughout a promotion campaign could be risky.
Zaha could provide the experience Wolves currently lack. His arrival would add another attacking option while also giving Mane and Gomes the opportunity to learn from an established winger who has played at the highest level.
West Ham
West Ham face a similar issue despite being among the leading contenders for promotion.
Their bench lacked attacking depth during the victory at Burnley, with Nuno Espírito Santo making only three substitutions and two of those changes being defensive as the Hammers looked to protect their lead.
When fully fit, Manor Solomon and Jarrod Bowen are expected to occupy the starting positions, but West Ham still need additional options in the final third.
Zaha could be particularly useful against the deep defensive blocks they are likely to encounter regularly. His ability to beat defenders, create something from nothing and bring unpredictability to an attack could give the Hammers another dimension.
While supporters may prefer a younger player who can contribute for several years, West Ham’s priority this season is promotion. A proven player like Zaha could potentially make an immediate difference.
Birmingham City
Birmingham appear to have a more settled squad and are unlikely to panic during the closing stages of the transfer window.
However, adding another left-sided winger could still significantly strengthen Chris Davies’ options.
Ibrahim Osman remains a major target following his impressive loan spell last season, but if Birmingham cannot get that deal over the line, they will need alternatives.
Zaha could be an intriguing option.
With Jay Stansfield capable of operating from the left and Demarai Gray already available, Birmingham would not necessarily need Zaha to start every match. His minutes could therefore be carefully managed.
If he can rediscover even part of his best form, Zaha could become a major attacking weapon for Blues. His direct style, experience and ability to create moments of magic could quickly make him a fan favourite at St Andrew’s.
With the winger available for £0, Wolves, West Ham and Birmingham City all have plenty of reasons to consider making a move before someone else wins the race for his signature.
