Hull City Fans Already Love Joe Gelhardt After Just Five Appearances

Joe Gelhardt has wasted little time making his mark at Hull City, with the striker reportedly winning over the Tigers faithful after just five appearances in black and amber.

The 24-year-old forward has made an impressive start to life at the MKM Stadium, and his latest performance against Everton has given supporters another reason to get excited about what he could bring to the team this season.

With three goals and two assists in his first five appearances, Gelhardt is quickly becoming a player Hull City fans are eager to see more of.

Gelhardt Makes an Immediate Impression

Arriving as a permanent Hull City player in the summer, Gelhardt has wasted little time showing his attacking quality.

His latest outing against Everton provided another memorable moment, as he reportedly chipped Jordan Pickford with a composed finish that demonstrated his confidence and technical ability.

It was the kind of goal that can quickly turn a promising start into something supporters remember.

Gelhardt has brought energy, movement and a willingness to take chances in the final third. His ability to run into space, link up with teammates and threaten opposition defences has made him an exciting option for Sergej Jakirovic.

Five appearances may be a small sample size, but the early signs have certainly given Hull fans plenty to discuss.

The Numbers Behind His Bright Start

Gelhardt’s reported statistics make encouraging reading for the Tigers.

– Appearances: 5

– Goals: 3

– Assists: 2

– Goal involvement: Every 87 minutes

Those numbers suggest that the forward has made a significant contribution whenever he has been on the pitch.

His goalscoring is particularly encouraging, but his assists also highlight his potential to contribute beyond simply finding the back of the net.

Hull need attacking players who can make things happen in tight situations, and Gelhardt appears to be offering exactly that kind of threat.

If he can maintain his early momentum, he could become an important figure in Jakirovic’s plans as the campaign progresses.

Of course, sustaining this level across a full season will be the real test. Opposition defenders will study his movement, chances may become harder to find, and consistency will be essential.

For now, however, his opening performances have given supporters plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

Hull City Supporters Are Getting Excited

Gelhardt’s early form has reportedly generated plenty of enthusiasm among Hull City supporters, with fans impressed by his goals, work rate and confidence in front of goal.

One supporter summed up the excitement by saying:

“Gelhardt is the real deal. Best striker we’ve had in years. Sign him up for life.”

Another praised his finish against Everton, writing:

“That chip over Pickford was pure class. He’s got that bit of magic we’ve been missing.”

A third pointed to his early numbers, adding:

“Five appearances, three goals. He’s already a legend at the MKM.”

Another supporter highlighted the forward’s journey, saying:

“I remember when he was released by Everton. Look at him now. What a story.”

These reactions reflect the sort of excitement a striker can generate when he starts delivering goals and memorable moments early in his time at a club.

However, five appearances are only the beginning. Gelhardt will need to keep producing if he wants to turn this encouraging start into a lasting connection with the Hull faithful.

Jakirovic Has Reasons to Be Pleased

Gelhardt’s performances also give Jakirovic a positive selection headache.

A striker who can score, create opportunities and work hard for the team provides a manager with valuable options in the attacking department.

Following the Everton match, Jakirovic was quoted as praising his forward’s contribution.

“Joe was excellent. He showed his quality with the goal. He’s been outstanding for us since he joined.”

The manager also highlighted the different elements of Gelhardt’s game, including his movement, ability to hold up the ball and willingness to work for the team.

Those qualities matter because Hull cannot rely on goals alone. Their attacking players must also help the side retain possession, create space for teammates and put opposition defences under sustained pressure.

Gelhardt’s reported combination of three goals and two assists suggests that he is contributing in several areas.

If he continues to perform at this level, Jakirovic could have a reliable attacking focal point around whom to build his forward line.

Mo Belloumi Could Help Take Hull’s Attack to Another Level

Gelhardt’s start is also encouraging for the players around him.

With Mo Belloumi providing creativity from the flanks, Hull have the potential to develop a dangerous attacking partnership between their wide players and central forward.

A striker who makes intelligent runs can create space for wingers, while creative wide players can supply the passes and crosses needed to turn promising attacks into goals.

That relationship will be important if Hull want to maintain their attacking threat throughout the season.

Gelhardt’s ability to contribute assists as well as goals could make him particularly useful in this system. Rather than simply waiting for opportunities inside the penalty area, he can potentially help bring other attackers into play.

The more understanding he develops with his teammates, the greater his influence could become.

There is still plenty of work to do, but the early signs offer encouragement for Hull supporters hoping to see a more productive attacking unit.

Can Gelhardt Become a Fan Favourite?

The excitement surrounding Gelhardt is understandable. Supporters want to see commitment, quality and players who can deliver decisive moments when their team needs them.

His reported finish against Everton, combined with his early goal contributions, has given fans something to celebrate.

But becoming a genuine Hull City favourite requires more than a handful of impressive performances.

Consistency, fitness and the ability to deliver in difficult matches will all play a part. The striker will also need to respond when teams begin paying closer attention to his movement and attacking strengths.

If he continues scoring, creating chances and working hard for the side, there is every reason for the connection with supporters to grow.

For now, Hull fans can enjoy the promise of a forward who appears determined to make his mark at the MKM Stadium.

The Verdict

Joe Gelhardt has reportedly made an excellent start to his Hull City career, with five appearances producing three goals and two assists.

His performance against Everton has added to the excitement, while his ability to combine goalscoring with creative contributions gives Jakirovic another reason to trust him in attack.

It is far too early to describe him as a club legend, but the foundations for a strong relationship with the Hull faithful are beginning to take shape.

Five appearances. Three goals. Two assists. And a finish against Everton that has reportedly caught the attention of supporters.

If Gelhardt can maintain his form and continue delivering when it matters most, Hull City may have found a forward capable of becoming a key figure in their season.
