Wayne Rooney stunned fellow BBC pundits after delivering a brutally honest assessment of Sunderland’s latest transfer setback, insisting the Black Cats cannot afford to let missed opportunities derail their preparations for life back in the Premier League.
The discussion came as the panel analysed Sunderland’s summer business and the club’s reported failure to land one of its priority transfer targets. While other pundits expressed sympathy for Régis Le Bris and Sunderland’s recruitment team, Rooney took a far more direct approach.
