Frank Lampard has issued a stark warning to Coventry City as the club prepares for life back in the Premier League after more than two decades away.
The Sky Blues head coach, who signed a long-term contract extension until 2029, stressed that swift action in the summer transfer window is essential if the club is to avoid an immediate relegation scrap.
Speaking after Coventry’s promotion success last season, Lampard made it clear that the gap between the Championship and the Premier League is significant and that the squad needs strengthening quickly.
“We have to be decisive and act fast,” Lampard is understood to have told the club’s hierarchy. “The Premier League is relentless. If we don’t get the right players in early, it will be a very difficult season.”
