“Underdogs Bite” — Neil Lennon Fires Warning Ahead Of Scottish Cup Final 🏆🔥

Neil Lennon has hit out at what he sees as the “disrespect” being shown toward Dunfermline ahead of their Scottish Cup final clash.

The former Celtic boss has guided his side to the national stadium and believes too many people are writing off their chances against the Scottish Premiership champions.

Lennon said: “The results speak for themselves — we’ve beaten Hibs, Aberdeen and Falkirk.

“We’re facing the champions, and I fully understand how tough that challenge will be, but it’s a one-off match. Beating Premiership teams has given the players the confidence and belief that they can do it again.

“This isn’t just a day out. I’ve heard plenty of talk this week about Martin O’Neill lifting the trophy alongside Callum McGregor, and people saying that if he had arrived earlier in the season, they’d already have completed a treble.”

Lennon continued: “I wouldn’t write us off. We may be the underdogs, but underdogs can still cause damage.”

Asked whether the comments had irritated him, Lennon was direct in his response.

“Absolutely. It gives me even more motivation, so I’m fine with it. I think it’s disrespectful, but again, I don’t mind that.

“We’ll go into the game not overflowing with confidence, but with a strong inner belief that we can achieve something special.”
