Sunderland Star targeted by two Premier League clubs after Sunderland ‘transfer request’

Eliezer Mayenda has reportedly told Sunderland he wishes to leave, with plenty of potential suitors.

Eliezer Mayenda is being targeted by two Premier League sides among other European clubs after telling Sunderland he wishes to leave, reports claim.

Mayenda is gearing up for international duties with Spain U21 but the forward has been the subject of intense speculation surrounding his future at Sunderland.

Despite having a contract until 2030, reports claim that Mayenda has already told the club that he no longer wishes to continue at the Stadium of Light due to limited first-team opportunities.

As per the reports, Sunderland are willing to honour Mayenda’s wish by allowing him to move on as long as they get a suitable fee.

Sunderland are said to value Mayenda between €25 million and €30 million, believing it to be a “reasonable price” for the highly rated young striker.

He is not short of admirers, with several top clubs monitoring the situation.

Mayenda’s priority transfer as two Premier League clubs linked

The 21-year-old has developed through the ranks and become a key prospect for Sunderland after helping them in their promotion campaigns and Premier League campaign.

Mayenda’s priority remains securing regular first-team football, with clubs in the Premier League showing strong interest.

Elsewhere, clubs across Europe including sides in Spain have been credited with interest in Mayenda.

But Mayenda could still remain in the Premier League, with both West Ham United and another Premier League club (reports link interest from sides like those chasing young attacking talent) said to be keeping tabs on the former Sochaux youngster.

Ideally, Mayenda would want to wait until after international commitments before making a decision on his next move but he would be prepared to fast-track a potential transfer if the right offer arrives.

Mayenda has regularly spoken about his ambitions and desire for more game time to continue his development.

He has played a significant number of matches for Sunderland since joining, contributing goals and showing promise as one of the club’s brightest young attackers.

Now, the summer transfer window offers a chance for the talented forward to seek a new challenge where he can play more regularly. Sunderland face a major decision on one of their promising stars.
