Roy Keane Breaks Silence On Elliot Anderson Transfer Links With Manchester City

Roy Keane has sparked debate by questioning Nottingham Forest’s sky-high valuation of star midfielder Elliot Anderson amid ongoing interest from Manchester City.

The Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United captain gave his no-holds-barred verdict on the 23-year-old as the transfer saga continues to heat up this summer.

Keane’s Honest Take

While acknowledging Anderson’s progress, Keane suggested the asking price is too steep. He commented:

“He’s done very well getting into the squad and the team. Every time the England manager has spoken about him he’s spoken very highly of him. He’s had a big impact.”

However, Keane added a note of caution about the player’s style:

“I feel sometimes he’s too eager to get on the ball and go forward.”

On the financial side of the deal, Keane made it clear he would hesitate at Forest’s reported £110 million+ valuation, indicating he sees better value around the £60-80m mark for a player with Anderson’s profile.

Stirring The Pot

Keane’s comments are likely to divide fans — especially Nottingham Forest supporters who believe their homegrown talent is worth every penny of the club’s firm stance following Manchester City’s approaches. Many will see Keane’s view as undervaluing a player who has shone at club level and impressed for England at the 2026 World Cup.

Forest remain adamant they will not sell Anderson on the cheap, viewing him as central to their Premier League plans under Vitor Pereira.
