Leeds United ‘open to offers’ for £15m star after major agreement

Selling players are expected to play a major role in Leeds United’s transfer plans this summer. Chairman Paraag Marathe has already made it clear that the club will need to take a measured approach in the market as they prepare for another season in the Premier League.

In his end-of-season letter, Marathe stressed that Leeds would be logical with their business during the transfer window.

That approach is likely to mean player sales before significant arrivals. With the Premier League’s new Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) rules limiting spending, Leeds are not expected to repeat last summer’s £100 million investment, which saw 10 first-team signings arrive at Elland Road.

Leeds United willing to listen to Lucas Perri offers

Illan Meslier remains the only confirmed senior departure after the club decided against offering him a new contract. Alex Cairns has signed an extension, while Karl Darlow is also expected to stay.

However, more departures could follow if Leeds need to generate funds.

BBC Radio Leeds journalist Adam Pope recently admitted he would not be surprised if the Whites entertained offers for Lucas Perri.

TEAMtalk now reports that Leeds are prepared to listen to bids for the Brazilian goalkeeper. However, any deal will depend on whether the club can sign a replacement. If Leeds fail to bring in another goalkeeper, Perri is expected to remain at Elland Road this summer.

Who else could leave Elland Road?

Perri may not be the only first-team player to depart before the transfer window closes.

The arrival of Harry Wilson could leave one of Leeds’ current wingers surplus to requirements. Wilfried Gnonto and Dan James both endured inconsistent seasons, and either could be sold if the right offer arrives.

Pascal Struijk is entering the final year of his contract, meaning Leeds could consider cashing in now rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Elsewhere, Max Wöber, Isaac Schmidt and Joe Gelhardt are all believed to be outside Daniel Farke’s plans for the upcoming campaign. Unless something changes, all three are expected to be available for transfer as Leeds continue reshaping the squad.
