Sunderland fans have been left in awe of Enzo Le Fée after the French midfielder produced a standout display in the Black Cats’ impressive 2-0 pre-season win over RC Lens.
The left-footed playmaker was at the heart of everything positive for Régis Le Bris’ side at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, controlling the tempo, linking play and helping the visitors dominate large spells against a strong Ligue 1 outfit. Goals from Trai Hume and Wilson Isidor sealed the victory, but it was Le Fée’s performance that had supporters raving.
One fan wrote: “Le Fée is better than Messi right now. The way he dictates games is beyond recognition. Absolute class.” Another added: “Watching Enzo Le Fée on the ball is pure magic. Left foot, vision, control — he’s on another level. What a signing he continues to be.”
Le Fée has been a key figure under Le Bris since arriving on Wearside, and his display against Lens only reinforced his importance to the side as they prepare for the Premier League season. The midfielder’s ability to progress the ball and find space under pressure was a major factor in Sunderland’s control of the game.
Le Bris was pleased with the overall performance. “We had good control in this game,” the head coach said. “We wanted to press high and dominate. I think it worked well. The players are connecting and the energy is there.”
The result has left Sunderland supporters increasingly optimistic about the campaign ahead. With Le Fée pulling the strings in midfield, many believe the Black Cats have a player capable of producing moments of real quality when the season begins in earnest.
