Tottenham Hotspur will aim to boost their Premier League survival hopes on Monday night when they host Leeds United in North London.
The Whites have been impressive since returning from last month’s international break and could even confirm their safety this weekend if Arsenal manage to defeat West Ham United.
Both teams head into the clash in strong form. Spurs have secured back-to-back victories over Wolves and Aston Villa, while Leeds have claimed three wins from their last four matches.
As Daniel Farke’s men look to finish the campaign strongly, they will be hoping to extend their momentum against a Tottenham side revitalised under Roberto De Zerbi.
However, the Yorkshire club are expected to face a difficult challenge in the capital, according to the latest projections from Opta’s supercomputer.
Tottenham backed to edge past Leeds
Leeds once again delivered when it mattered most with a convincing 3-1 victory over Burnley in their previous outing, continuing their push for Premier League survival.
Holding a healthy cushion over West Ham in the relegation zone, Monday’s trip to Spurs may feel like less pressure for the Whites, but they will still be targeting another valuable result.
Despite Leeds’ recent improvement, Opta’s supercomputer has made Tottenham favourites to secure all three points, giving the hosts a 50.9 percent chance of victory. The prediction reflects Spurs’ resurgence in form over recent weeks.
Leeds, meanwhile, have been handed a 26.7 percent chance of winning — only slightly higher than the 22.4 percent probability of a draw.
Still, Leeds supporters will remain optimistic about staying clear of danger, especially with one eye on Sunday’s fixtures.
Before the international break, a series of frustrating draws had pulled Farke’s side back toward the relegation battle. Since then, however, Leeds have responded brilliantly and now sit on the verge of confirming their top-flight status.
Attention will also turn to West Ham’s showdown with league leaders Arsenal on Sunday. A victory for the Gunners would officially guarantee Leeds’ Premier League survival.
And based on the latest supercomputer forecast, that outcome looks possible, with West Ham given only a 19.3 percent chance of defeating Arsenal.
Leeds may be facing a demanding night under the lights in North London, but unlike earlier in the season, they no longer appear to be in immediate danger of being dragged back into the relegation fight.
