Aston Villa midfielder Ross Barkley has reportedly made his stance clear on a potential move to Coventry City this summer, as the Sky Blues look to strengthen their squad following promotion to the Premier League.

The experienced 32-year-old, who has been linked with a return to the Midlands, is said to be open to the idea of joining Coventry as they prepare for life back in the top flight under manager Frank Lampard.

The midfielder has also expressed his desire to play alongside a hungry, young squad at Coventry, feeling that the dressing room atmosphere and togetherness would suit his style perfectly.
