Hiring Daniel Farke was one of the best decisions the ownership made following relegation. They also backed him in the transfer market, bringing in the players who helped Leeds achieve promotion.
Many expected the Whites to target proven Championship talent or players from lower-half Premier League clubs. Instead, Leeds looked across Europe for quality.
The club signed Anton Stach, Jaka Bijol, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor, among others. A key part of that recruitment drive was convincing players to buy into the long-term project.
Leeds United remain in the race for Champions League star
Leeds are now looking to strengthen further ahead of their second season back in the Premier League.
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt is expected to leave the German club when his contract expires at the end of the month, and Leeds are keen to add him to their squad.
After securing the likes of Stach, Bijol and Calvert-Lewin, while closing in on Harry Wilson, Leeds look set for another ambitious summer.
Fans will be encouraged to hear that Brandt remains a genuine target. Adam Pope has confirmed that the 30-year-old is a player the club are actively pursuing.
Leeds are still in the hunt for Brandt.
At 30, he has bags of experience. He went almost all the way in the Champions League and should have won more in his career.
They still want him, but they will face competition from elsewhere to complete the deal.

49ers showing ambition ahead of next season
Daniel Farke has made it clear he wants the ownership to match his ambition for the club’s future.
The Leeds boss hopes to remain at Elland Road for the long term and has urged the 49ers to be aggressive in the transfer market by securing top-quality targets.
The imminent arrival of Harry Wilson shows the owners have taken that message on board.
Landing another player of Julian Brandt’s calibre would be a major statement. Bringing in someone with vast experience and a strong Champions League pedigree would represent a significant coup for Leeds United.
