England Beat Norway in Extra Time to Book World Cup Semifinal Spot

England secured a place in the semifinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after claiming a dramatic 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway in their quarterfinal clash at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday.

Norway opened the scoring in the 36th minute through Andreas Schjelderup, putting the Three Lions under pressure. However, England midfielder Jude Bellingham restored parity deep into first-half stoppage time, ensuring the sides went into the interval level at 1-1.

Neither team could find a breakthrough during the second half, sending the contest into extra time. Bellingham once again proved to be England’s hero, netting the decisive goal in the 92nd minute to send his side into the World Cup semifinals for the fourth time in the country’s history.

England will now take on Argentina in the semifinals after the South American giants earned a 3-1 victory over Switzerland later on Sunday.
